Genetic information obtained from a genetic profile that has been stripped of your personal information/personal data (name and contact information), without being possible to identify it reasonably as an individual. Your data will be ciphered, encrypted and stored in individual vaults (only you will have the ability to make decision over your data)

WHAT IS THE PURPOSE IN THE TREATMENT OF YOUR PERSONAL, SENSITIVE AND UNIDENTIFIED AND/OR INDIVIDUALIZED DATA?

  • Based on your unidentified and/or individualized genetic information, SOMOS Inc. may collect additional data for purposes of: Scientific research, analytical research, scientific discoveries, new services/products, improvements.

  • Your unidentified and/or individualized genetic information may be used for research that will be published in scientific journals, or sponsored by other organizations under each individual's previous consent

  • Your unidentified and/or individualized genetic information may be used and/or included and/or transferred and/or shared for profit or marketing.

  • Recruitment for external research.

  • Conducting surveys.

  • Obtaining testimonies.

  • You will always be notified for any additional use, management of your personal or individual data

  • Knowledge generation such as algorithm development such as, but not limited to: machine learning, artificial intelligence, etc.

WHO WILL HAVE ACCESS TO YOUR DATA?
Information about our clients as well as the protection of it, are very important to SOMOS INC, we are not dedicated to sell our customers information to others, however, on some occasions and to optimally provide you with our services, we share your information consistently with our Privacy Policies; sometimes, we employ others to perform some roles on our behalf, for example: Sample processing, payment processing, and data analysis. These third-party service providers have access only to the necessary information to perform their functions and may not use it for other purposes, they are obliged to this Privacy Policies.

WHAT WILL HAPPEN TO YOUR SALIVA SAMPLE AFTER THE TEST?
SOMOS INC., will physically store it, or the DNA extracted from it for a minimum of one year and a maximum of ten years, if additional storage is needed, participants will be notified to extend such a storage.

DATA TRANSFER
As we continue our growth, we may be involved in the sale or purchase of other companies and/or other services, in such transactions, NON of any user´s individual data will be transferred. Every single participant in SOMOS, will be notified of any change, acquisition or other negotiations between SOMOS and a third party before any decision is made on behalf of data management always in compliance with this Privacy Policies.

PERSONAL AND SENSITIVE PERSONAL DATA USAGE
If you do not expressly object to the use of your individual data, it is considered that you have given your consent for the use both nationally and internationally to third parties, both public and deprived of your personal data and sensitive personal data, consistently to this Privacy Policies. The referred usage may be made to all those entities that develop on the following areas: Health and/or medical research and/or scientific research and/or medicine and/or genetic research and/or trade in goods and services related to the genetics, and/or trade in goods and services related to the field of medicine; the third party receiving the permission to consult the data, shall assume the same obligations as SOMOS Inc., which revoques any ownership claim of individual data.

HOW DO I REVOQUE/CANCEL THE TREATMENT AND USAGE OF MY PERSONAL AND SENSITIVE INDIVIDUAL DATA?
You may request the cancellation (if legally proceeded) or object to the use of the data collected by SOMOS Inc., or revoke the consent you have given. Your request will be answered by our personal data department (within 90 business days), which can be addressed by sending an email to the following e-mail address: hola@somosancestria.com requesting a form, which will be sent indicating both the requirements and the procedure to be followed. Likewise, if you do not expressly object to the processing of your individual data, it is considered that you have given your consent.

HOW TO LIMIT THE USE OR DISCLOSURE OF YOUR INDIVIDUAL DATA?

CHANGES TO OUR PRIVACY POLICIES
Our Privacy Policies are set into force since July 2020, but might be modified in a discretionary manner by SOMOS Inc. through our website, web platform or any communication channel with each participant; you will be notified for  and asked to accept any changes.
